Who these terms cover
These terms apply to organisations and adults who arrange, manage or deliver Recess sessions. Students participate through their school's supervised class process and receive short, age-appropriate room rules before joining.
The service
Recess provides company-funded live learning sessions for supervised school groups. Published availability, presenters and content may change before a booking is confirmed. Participating schools are not charged for funded sessions.
A booking is confirmed only when the secure account shows it as confirmed. Organisations must keep account access and student join codes within the intended group and promptly tell us about suspected misuse.
Company funding agreements
A funded programme may also be governed by a separately executed agreement between Recess Pty Ltd (ABN 46 674 209 100, ACN 674 209 100) and the funding company. That agreement records the commercial scope, funded deliveries, delivery period and any approved company acknowledgement.
If that agreement and these terms conflict about the programme's commercial or delivery scope, the executed agreement applies to that conflict. These platform, acceptable-use, privacy and child-safety requirements continue to apply unless the executed agreement expressly sets a lawful alternative.
School and host responsibilities
The booking adult must have authority to act for the school, complete required school notices and permissions, provide accurate group context, and select an eligible adult host. The host must remain responsible for the class, control admission and participation, respond to student concerns, and use the pause or end controls when needed.
Presenter and company responsibilities
Presenters must complete required onboarding, training, rehearsal and location-appropriate screening; use only approved content; stay within the live room; and follow the child-safe code of conduct. Companies must nominate suitable adults and must not use a session for direct marketing, lead collection or unsupervised recruitment.
Acceptable use
Do not harass, threaten, exploit, groom or impersonate another person; share sexual, hateful, violent or unlawful material; request or disclose private contact information; attempt private contact with a student; promote products to students; record or screenshot the room without an approved permission process; bypass moderation or access controls; disrupt the service; or misuse another person’s account or join code.
We may hold or remove content, pause participation, remove a user, suspend access, preserve safety evidence, or make a lawful report. Affected adults can ask us to review an action through Help and complaints.
Content and learning materials
Recess or its licensors retain rights in the platform and session materials. A school may use supplied student takeaways for its participating class but may not sell, publish or remove ownership notices from them. Organisations retain their own names and logos and grant the limited permission needed to display approved programme acknowledgement.
Availability and changes
Live delivery depends on internet, devices and third-party services. We may reschedule, pause or cancel where safety, presenter readiness or technical reliability requires it. We will use reasonable care and communicate material changes to authorised adults.
Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including Australian Consumer Law rights where they apply.
