Current approach
Recess supports keyboard navigation, visible focus, semantic headings and labels, reduced-motion preferences, high-contrast interface states and text-based participation without student audio or video. Core learning activities are designed to avoid speed being the only measure of success.
Adjustments and alternative formats
A school can request extra preparation time, a keyboard-compatible activity, reduced animation, captions or transcripts where available, an alternative student takeaway, or another reasonable adjustment. The school should contact us before the session where possible so we can test the complete experience.
Known limits
Some live-video behaviour depends on the browser and third-party media service. Interactive content is still being tested across assistive technologies, and not every session asset currently has an equivalent alternative format. We will not knowingly publish an activity that prevents a student from accessing the core learning outcome without first providing an alternative.
